MATSU Cane & Walking Stick is a product of Maki Yoshida’s design aesthetics recognized by major European luxury brands and craftsmanship of Tsuge Pipe, world renowned manufacturer of tobacco pipes.

The MATSU line of products incorporates functionality and engineering considerations based on the designer’s personal experience of having to use one after his ski accident.

Historically, walking stick and canes are not merely functional walking aids, but part of an individual’s fashion style, whether it be for daily use or for formal occasions.  

Designer : Maki Yoshida

Born in Tokyo, Maki is a graduate of Musashino Art University.  After finishing his studies, he Joined TAKEO KIKUCHI design office, responsible for designing men’s accessories.  In 1995, he launched his own design firm M.Y. Label, focusing on men’s accessories, stationery, eye glass frames, umbrellas, bags, cutleries, smoking products, and lighting equipment.  During this period, he also worked as product designer for S.T. Dupont Paris and Globe Trotter.  He launched the MATSU brand with Tsuge Pipe in 2018.
