Design
Uncompromising attention to details
All the parts and materials used are based on optimal functionality, human engineering science and design.
GRIP : Ergonomic symmetry
All three types of grips, ball grip, T grip, and J grip are designed so that the pressure applied goes straight to the shaft of cane.
BALL GRIP (MEN'S) / EGG GRIP (WOMEN'S)
The ball/egg shaped grips are easy to hold and enabled flexible reaction to different types of walking surfaces. The shape has strong resistance to pressure, and therefore, has been a popular grip over the years.
T GRIP
Fit for grasping the grip with all fingers.
J GRIP
Offers the ease of hooking on to the elbow. A favorite of English gentlemen.
NECK : Sturdy construction
The grip and shaft are connected by brass in a cross-shaped design to achieve both light weight and sturdiness. The parts are made of separate components which provide significantly greater strength compared to those made by pouring metal into a mold.
STRAP : Useful accessory
Strap is not just fashionable, but is useful if you need to free your hands or to hold the cane by your side.
SHAFT : Elegant design
The shaft is tapered to give it an elegant look which may not be easily noticeable. For men's models, the diameter of the top section of the shaft is 20mm and is tapered to 18mm at its bottom. For women's models, 17mm and 15.5mm. The length of each model can be adjusted as requested.
Ferrule : Integrated design with skid-proof role
Ferrule must not only be durable but also be skid-proof and absorb shock. Ebonite (very hard rubber) and animal horn are commonly used for this purpose, but in most case, they must be covered by additional durable skid-proof rubber cap to absorb shock because these traditional ferrule materials are not fit for use on modern-day walking surfaces. MATSU resolved this aesthetic problem by attaching hard, durable and shock absorbing rubber (similar to one used in car tires) ferrule, which, upon wear, can be easily replaced by the owner.
